Voice of the Sea, Josi (vocals) Neil (guitars) David (drums/
piano/keys), is a reincarnation of Josi Without Colours/
Josephine. Josi Without Colours’ acclaimed single “Treasure”
received numerous Radio 1 plays including Round Table.
They also previously released “Children of the Revolution” on
Barracuda Blue, a Marc Bolan compilation album. Josephine
had world wide plays of “All this and Heaven too” and several
dance re-mixes (trance dance). Voice of the Sea are currently
working on an album of new material for release in 2018.
Josi and David met Ralph (synthesist/bass/drummer),
electronica music artist, at a buddhist meeting, got chanting,
got grooving and subsequently with Neil formed Voice of the
Sea. In the midst of being loved up, writing and recording
their album of original material, they decided to record two
Marc Bolan tracks for the 40th anniversary of his death.
It would also have been Marc’s 70th birthday in September –
Voice of the Sea are all fans of the late Marc Bolan and
wanted to pay tribute to him.
“…..then you realise what’s required is not only a re interpretation of the originals, but something else on top. This EP possesses beauty, elegance, and most importantly, restraint. Josi has always been blessed with a remarkable voice that displays itself at its finest on these songs. These tracks are eminently worth seeking out on their release” David Dickson
“ I have to say Cosmic Dancer is a brilliant cover” Anne, EGH Radio
“…..sumptuous vocals, ethereal musical interludes, dramatic crescendos, glistening guitar, otherworldly quality that would be suited to a scene in twin peaks, all backwards and in slow motion of course!” Marc Arscott
“ Awesome. This sounds like if The Flaming Lips were fronted by a woman” RNolson – Linkologist EGH Radio
“ Lovely stuff” – Rob
“ I liked it a lot…spacious sound…psychedelic nice rolling drums” – Paul
“ Good production…kind of grungy cardigans… I like it….” – Elliot
